KEEP CALM & BUY WELLIES: THE DECEMBER DIARIES

Loads of work and tying up loose ends, then Christmas, New Year's Eve and a good bit of rest - like August without the good weather, December has got it all.

You know it's year-end when you need to finish two months' worth of work in less than three weeks but you can't really be bothered to panic. I guess you get the hang of it. And when, like this year, there are a few extra days for Christmas preparations, shopping, cleaning, half of a huge clearout, the greater part of the festive lead-up being self-imposed is refreshing. Finally, between Christmas and New Year, I took my own advice and got the easy-to-wear and ever-comfy original short boots in navy from Hunter I had long had my eye on.
