RETRO REVELLERS: THE NOVEMBER DIARIES

Oh, all that fur, velvet, suede and fluff! It's time, my friends, to get seriously cuddly and chic.

Some of the new basics for this season are my long-time wishlist items so it was high time I saw to adding them to the wardrobe. I've always loved polka dots but, frankly, they don't quite sit well with my overall style. Too cute, so flirty & feminine that I have a hard time toughing them up for some measure of balance. Now I found the perfect compromise - they do exist, sometimes - in unisex-to-boyish pinspot pieces, my new New Look shirts.

Another key basic is the dungarees. I had only had them in wide-leg smart black and in acid wash carpenter style before so I'm quite happy with these new sleek flares in blue.

The third and probably most important addition is the navy blue reefer coat, I've been wanting one of those literally for ages so with the current high street choice I just could not resist.

Otherwise I'm truly revelling in suede, furs and velvet, some new, some vintage. With the Seventies craze I've been digging those pieces out one by one only to find them quite versatile. Surprisingly, it seems part of my inflated wardrobe was no waste of space after all!

Here's to similar happy surprises for the year-end - prepare to snuggle up and relax before the big rush.
