SUMMER HEAT: THE JULY DIARIES

A great time for thrifting, some more recycling and wearing shorts...

I'm kind of inclined to say I didn't shop a lot through the month but I suspect it wouldn't be true - better not check. Still, looking at last month's outfit diary I can see it could have been a great time for thrifting: I've managed to recycle lots of items I had lying about, like the leopard print crop blouse, the chambray dress, the gladiator sandals, some vintage hand-me-downs, a Kate Moss for Topshop dress coinciding with the launch of the new collection and so on.

I guess I'm becoming obsessed with wearing shorts with shirts. The outfits feel barely there but look uber stylish, I can only recommend as I road-tested them for both work and play - and more are coming up in August!

Enjoy summer and find my live feeds on Instagram, Tumblr, Twitter, and selected looks on Lookbook.

  1. Hi, are the Dr. Martens Gryphon sandals comfy for someone on their feet all day?

  2. Hi Athena, the Gryphons' insoles are well-cushioned and buttersoft, and thanks to the buckles they fit like a dream so I would say they are comfy enough for all day. They might take a bit of getting used to though - on a hot summer day you may get the feeling you have a lot of heavy leather around your bare feet and you will feel it when you take them off. Like with boots, it could be a question of breaking them in. So, they're not as easy to wear as Birkenstocks and the like but better than anything else. I usually have a lot of issues with sandals but I found these safe, comfy and they never broke my skin like the others. Hope this helps :) Cheers, Gabriella
